Christmas Cheer/Nursery Updates

We had a fun, action-packed weekend! I wanted to get the pics up before, umm..spring?! First was the Sedgeburn holiday party, then a get together at Erin & Brent's(all on Saturday night) It was busy but so much fun, we hate to miss a party so we strapped in for it all. It was great to kick off the holiday season with all of our great neighborhood friends. We especially enjoyed the dirty Santa gift exchange at Misty and Scott's, got very interesting. I know Joe will put his box of hotel toiletries from the Bauer's to good use, at least they are from Disney World! And who would dare steal a Wine Shop gift card from the poor pregnant lady(Misty)??BUT we did end up with a Home Depot gift card-Thank you whoever brought that!
Those Grant's did a lot of gift snatching :)

Project Nursery: Almsot complete, yippy! It is a labor of love for sure, little by little we did things; ordered furniture, picked out bedding, paint, curtains... It is just about finished(once we get something on the wall.) I am taking suggestions. I really love it, turned out so much better than I had hoped. Kevin worked very hard putting everything together and painting, it was SO worth it! I spent all day Sunday washing all her cute little clothes and all the bedding. We can't wait to put our little girl in her very own room.

November and December in a Nutshell

Hello friends we're alive...Since I have finally stopped losing sleep over the "feel good", lackluster president elect, I am happily back to blogging.
*Happy 2 year anniversary to us! Dinner at Sullivan's was delish and a great surprise from my hubby, a Kate Spade bag. 2 years of adventures and fun with my favorite guy. Looking forward to many more :)

*Baby projects--nursery painted, book shelf assembled and curtains hung. More to come, furniture and of course our Baby girl(March 12) Pics will be up soon!

*Ohio Visit/Baby shower, so fun seeing my fam and all my friends in OH...miss them so much! (not the cold Ohio weather though)

*Vegas Baby! Where else would a pregnant lady go to vacation?! Kevin was there for a conference so we made a little weekend out of it. It was great weather and loved seeing all the sites(and all the great food!). We saw La Reve at the Wynn hotel...absolutely amazing! I think we broke even at the Roulette and Black Jack tables, that means success in Vegas, right?

Kevin "working hard"

*Berewick girls night out- Julia, Melissa, me and Misty. Happy birthday Melissa! What a fun bunch :) I seriously laughed the entire night! Just wait until I can have a drink with you all :)

Panthers Tailgate

Sunday we went downtown to tailgate for the Carolina Panthers game. It was not quite fall football weather, felt about 90 degrees. Thankfully we had a tarp to sit under. It was fun getting together with the crew, not sure who won at beer pong but I always enjoy seeing the Bogucki's bring out the Pong A Long table, what a great investment! Oh, and I think the Panthers won!?

It's a Girl!

We had our 17 week ultra sound today, everything looked great. She was wiggling all around, letting us see what we needed to see. Let the dresses, bows and PINK flood gates open. We are so happy but I fear poor Kevin is out numbered, he'll just have to get in touch with his feminine side :)

Investment Advise

Thank you to my husband for passing along this very valuable information.
If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49left. With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000. With AIG, you would have less than $15 left. But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the
aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214 cash. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Outer Banks Vacation

We spent last week in Emerald Isle, NC with my family for a fun filled beach vaca! This was the first time we have ever vacationed all together in one house. It was a great time and I loved being able to spend so much time with everyone, especially my nephews. They are growing up so fast and do/say so many funny things. Colin has SO many questions, why this, why that....sometimes no one knew "why" so we made something up! Overall this place is perfect for a fun, restful beach vaca. The beaches are not crowded at all and it is a qiuet, small town. There are some things to do but we opted mostly for beach and pool time. One day we did take a ferry out to a private island called, Shackelford Island. It was basically another beach but this one had lots and lots of shells and we saw one of the wild horses, pretty cool. We ate and drank(some of us)A LOT and played games. They boys kept busy, my sister in law basically packed a toy store, not sure how they fit clothes in their car? So many games, toys, books and even Halloween costumes, we had lots of action going on at all times. That was our official end of summer fun, it was great and now back to reality!

Greek Festival Fun

Last weekend we went to Dillworth for the Greek Festival. I was thinking about some delish gyros and Greek baked goods all day long. Kevin was excited to try Mythos, the Greek beer. So as we get there I am thinking the sweets and gyros will be satisfying enough for me. Not so much... those Greeks LOVE the sugar and spices. It was so sweet even my large sweet tooth couldn't handle it. Honestly, I just wanted a beer, just one little beer. On Saturday I gave in, honoring the OSU game I did have an O'douls -- and soon realized this would be my 'go to' if a craving struck. Friends, if I am the big pregnant lady drinking O'douls at the next function, please don't judge. :) . Great weekend overall and I did have a great time at the Greek fest(loved the Gyro) and as you can see below my friends had a great time too, loving the beers and loving the goodies. Check out Bobbie in the corner licking his lips!

Big News

Well as I have said many times, there is 'something' in the water here in Berewick. We too have 'drank the water' and are expecting a baby this March. We couldn't be happier to add a new little one to our family :) So far I am lucky to be feeling great, I came out of the first trimester without any sickness or issues. We will be finding out the sex sometime in Oct. I will definitely update when we know.

Labor Day Weekend

I have been bad about taking pictures lately, mostly because things have been pretty quiet due to Kevin being out of town for work. He has traveled A LOT this summer, to and from Pope Air Force base for work. He is finally nearing the end of that and was so excited to 'kick' off the weekend with football. He was positively giddy about all the games and made it a point that he would get "all his chores done so on Saturday and Sunday he could focus on football". It was fine with me, he's been working hard and deserved it. We ended up getting together with neighbors and his sister over the weekend(again, no photos..) but we really enjoyed just laying low and watching some games and hanging out together. We'll be trying to hit the pool a few more times before it closes and looking forward to our vacation in a few weeks. I will have pictures to post for that :)

Some Sunflower

Thought this pic of my brother and nephew was too funny. I have never seen a sunflower so big. Matt is 6'5ish so that thing is TALL.

Beth & Trey's Wedding

Last weekend we headed to Ohio to be a part of one of my best friends' weddings. Beth and I have been friends since 6th grade, lived together in college and into our 20's. We have been through it ALL and it was wonderful being a part of her big day. Beth was gorgeous and Trey and her make a perfect pair. She is the last of all the friends to tie the knot and the realization that we won't have anymore weddings to bring us all together set in. It was a bitter sweet day, but we definitely made it one last harrah! Kevin was a total trooper hanging out with my girlfriends and parents while I did my bridesmaid duties, so sweet! My friends in Ohio are so important to me and I am blessed we have all remained so close through the moves, marriages, babies...etc.

4th of July in Ohio

On Thursday before the fourth of July holiday we loaded up at 5am and headed to the Charlotte airport--Ohio-bound! We were very excited to see our family, it has been since Christmas, way too long. Our flight went smooth to Dayton and Kevin's mom met us in the baggage claim to take us back to Versailles. She is now newly retired and very excited about all her free time. Kevin hooked her new laptop up to a wireless router, she is now wi-fi throughout the whole house, she is so techno-hip ;) We had a cookout Thurs. night with his family, although cold and rainy, we had a great time. There was tons of food as usual and everyone enjoyed catching up.

The Pohlman/Gavit men

Becky and Aunt Shirly having fun in the kitchen

Friday afternoon the Pohlman's did a 'drop off' half way between their house and my parents' house. As some of you know, Kevin and I grew up about an hour from each other(not to meet until we both landed in Charlotte). So on we went to Lima, OH to see the Barga's. Another cookout ensued and I was most excited to see my nephews, Colin and Jack. They are growing up so fast and I just cannot believe what big boys they are. Colin quickly showed me all the fun things ma ma and pa pa have at their house. They have bikes, slip and slides, and all kinds of toys. Of course the best 'toy' is Pa Pa's truck and riding lawn mower, they just love going for rides. Also one of the funniest things of the whole weekend was Jack, now 2 and a half, he will only wear his batman outfit and refuses to take it off. Also, wants you to CALL him Batman, so funny! My aunt Paula, uncle Scott and cousin Stevee were in from Florida for the wedding(the primary reason for the Ohio trip)so they drove up to Ohio for the evening. Saturday before the wedding we wanted to pack in some fun with a fish fry with my dad's fishing buddies. The men go on a fishing trip once a year and bring home a bunch of fish, they fried it up along with hot wings. The fish was great along with all the sides, we made brownies and took a cut up watermelon. So much food just wanted to nap after BUT we had to head to Indy for the wedding. I was so glad my dress still fit!(barely)

"Don't call me Jack..my name is BATMAN!"

Colin loved the slip and slide...although it was cold!

Dad and bro Matt--taking on Kevin and Uncle Scott in Corn hole
Brigette, my sister in law and 'batman'
Jack was not into it after putting on his swim suit--too cold!
My best friend Laura and her family stopped by--Amelia kept stealing my "pretty" to wear around her neck.

I miss ya Laura!

The(tall) Barga family--except Brig, she had to take the pic

My sweet little cousin Ben married his H.S. sweetheart Katie on Saturday. I did baby sit Ben at one time, my I felt old watching him get married. Now, he is 23..I guess I was a YOUNG baby sitter :) They had about 400 people there, it was a big bash. All of my Indiana family attended, it was great to see them all at once in one place.

Cousin Jocelyn and Cousin Emily...so pretty!

The Kukelhaun girl cousins(guess who is the oldie?!)

Ben was twirling Katie on the arrival to the reception. They lookes so happy!

Kevin and I outside the church, it turned out to be a gorgeous day!

We were definitely on the move the entire weekend, it flew by! Overall, it was a successful trip to the North and when we left we felt like we did everything and saw everyone. Thanks everyone for hosting and carting us around--Love you!
