Erin & Brent's Wedding

We had the pleasure of being a part of Erin and Brent's wedding weekend, all the festivities from Thursday night until Saturday(the wedding day). We really enjoy her family and friends, those Benko's know how to party! We have become great friends and love that we live only a few houses away--many BBQ's and corn-hole in the future. The wedding took place at the Marriott hotel in Southpark, everything under one roof was the way to go! They looked so happy and completely glowed all day. I just love weddings :) The Clemson Tiger even made an appearance at the reception--Kevin and I learned the Clemson cheers! Everything was perfect and we had the BEST time--We are exhausted today from all our dancing...Kevin really brought his moves this weekend!

Summer weekends

Another fun(warm)weekend with friends. We headed down to music at the pond on Friday night in the neighborhood. It was great to see everyone and the weather was not so hot(unlike last time). We really enjoy our neighborhood, we have made so many great friends and there are so many fun activities to partake in. Saturday night we went to a BBQ at Rick and Katherine's. They made a delicious meal with the help of their new grill-The Weber, it was pretty! We had flank steak, corn and orzo salad, not to mention the yummy strawbberry shortcake Jenny made, she is always our dessert girl. Also, Katherine made a delish white sangria, I am going to re-create very soon--we drank it up quickly. Thanks Brooks' for having us, we also loved seeing the pups--Murray was so cute trying to cuddle up with our cooler :) Love it!

Girls Night Times 2

The past two weekends I have been very lucky to have a girls night out on Saturday. Last weekend was Sex and the City; The Movie with Katherine, Jenny, Sumer and some other friends. Had my outfit picked out and prepared some SATC triva questions for dinner, we all needed a refresher :) Dinner started at Bravo where we proceeded to drink yummy martinis and the fun conversation flowed. It was opening weekend so the theater was crowded, thankfully we all got seats together. The guys played poker at Mark's house, seems they had fun as well :)
This Saturday was also very girlie as I went to a baby shower in the morning then onto Erin's Bachelorette party that evening. We planned dinner at M5 with about 10 of Erin's friends. We all received cute favors from Kristen and Elsa, martini glasses filled with a mini vodka bottle and chocolates. The glasses were tied up with martini recipes, all named for characters in the movie. The "Carrie" was a hit! Erin, Marianne and myself drove together and boy was it eventful--when leaving dinner there may perhaps have been a one way street 'someone' turned the wrong way on. No major road, just a road within the mall parking lot. Great material to bring up at our next outing..haha...such a fun weekend!
On Sunday Kevin and I confronted the extreme heat and went to the pool. It was so hot the pool was not very refreshing but it was fun to relax and hang out with our neighbors. I got some sun, Kevin is red but hopefully no peeling :)

Erin and Brent-soon to be newly-weds!
This is a gift from Erin and Brent...Kevin is the neighborhood cop!

Memorial Day weekend we had a birthday(slash)graduation party for Kevin. I am so proud of him, he has finally completed his Masters degree at UNCC. This party was a combo as his 27th bday was also Saturday. He had a few requests; BBQ, cornhole and a keg of miller light--"nothing fancy". The party was as he requested plus a delicious cake from Harris Teeter(our fav NC grocery)Early in the day it was grey and raining, but almost as our party was starting, the sun came out and the rest of the day was gorgeous and not too hot. We had neighbors and co workers stopping throughout the day. This was also our first 'kid friendly' party, we loved having all the kids around, way more fun! It was a beautiful day and good way to start the summer off. Kevin's cousins Dave and Matt came in from Ohio, was supposed to be a surprise but he figured it out. The boys enjoyed catching up over corn-hole and icy beverages all weekend long :) As most of you know, Kevin doesn't relax easily so I am trying to find something for him to do. Homework used to be his hobby, thinking maybe some new house project? We'll see...hoping a vacation is in our future!
